OneAmerica is pleased to announce that Shanthi Santhakumar – its 2007 nominee for the 27th annual Center for Leadership Development Minority Business and Professional Achievers Recognition Award, was chosen for the honor in the category of Human Achievement.
Shanthi Santhakumar, is a systems consultant for American United Life Insurance Company® (AUL), a OneAmerica company and native of India. She received the honor at an awards gala on March 19 at the Indiana Convention Center.
“This is an important recognition for me because it validates the values I was raised with,” said Santhakumar. “I’m grateful to OneAmerica for providing me with so many opportunities.”
Santhakumar and the other nominees were judged on their professional accomplishments, leadership capabilities, commitment to their company or organization and level of community involvement.

Nominated by her supervisor, Santhakumar has been promoted four times since coming to AUL in 1999. An active member of the Tamil Association, a cultural and social organization for people from Tamil Nadu, a state in southern India, Santhakumar helps Indian children better understand their heritage.
